Selection as METI’s 2020 version of “Global Niche Top Companies Selection 100”News Release

Asahi Yukizai has recently been selected as one of the 2020 version of “Global Niche Top Companies Selection 100” sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (the materials/chemicals division). The relevant product is the “ASAHIAV” valve1) concerning which it was valued that they hold a large share of the Japanese and overseas markets.

Ever since we succeeded in manufacturing the world’s first, all-plastic stop valves in 1956, our company has been expanding the product line-up featuring their characteristics of being light, durable and rust-resistant, thereby enhancing the reputation of the ASAHIAV brand.

The manufacturing processes in which our products can play the most active roles include those in such large-scale plants as those for steelmaking or electrolysis, aquariums and fishery facilities, along with semiconductor manufacturing facilities, where our products are given the assessment as “indispensable.”

Furthermore, in 1963 we started our global development and have built a network for providing our products to more than 50 countries. We have now established our position as a reliable brand leader. 2) 3)

99% of the global markets for valves are accounted for by metallic products. As plastic valves account for only about 1% of the markets, there are many “undeveloped” areas where plastic valves remain unfamiliar: This means we have great potential for growth. Taking the opportunity of being selected as one of the 100 Global Niche Top Companies, we wish to expand the markets for plastic valves more and more.

We are determined to continue sharing information on ASAHIAV and its products, which are made in Japan and made in Nobeoka.
