Foundry Materials and Functional ResinsT-WRAP®

Introduction of T-WRAP®, featuring a lower amine odor during core forming and casting processes

Overview

In the process of forming and casting cores through the cold box (CB) method, the amine odor derived from flying apart of solvent and the hardening catalyst is generated. Many core forming and casting manufacturers enclose their core forming machines to prevent the spread of odorants or treat the amine purge air in a deodorizing tower. However, it is not easy to cope with the odor arising from odorants that fail to be caught in the forming process, from solvent remaining in the cores formed or from the spread of amine.
We have recently developed low-odor T-WRAP® CB resin for the purpose of reducing the odor emitted when forming and casting with the CB method.
This T-WRAP® CB resin produces an effect that neutralizes the sense of smell to change the smell throughout the factory and the smell discharged from the deodorizing tower.

Forms

  • Liquid resin

Applications

  • Aluminum casting
  • General casting

Features

  • The use of the T-WRAPR CB resin in mold production and in casting will reduce the odor derived from solvent and amine throughout the factory to massively improve the smell conditions of the work environment and the surrounding environment.
  • It has little impact on the characteristics of the molds created with the CB method.
  • This technology may be applied to all of our CB resins currently in use.
