Introducing the Fruity RCS®, a low odor RCS for improving odor conditions at the time of shell mold forming
Overview
Shell mold forming generates phenols, formaldehyde, ammonia and amines to produce a peculiar odor. We have developed hexamine-free resins, low-formaldehyde resins and tar reducing agents and released resin coated sand (RCS) products containing different deodorizers.
We have recently developed the Fruity RCS®, which is a low odor RCS® aimed at improving odor conditions in shell mold forming.
It has the effect of neutralizing the sense of smell to change the smell in the foundry. The resulting smell is close to the scent of fruit that is familiar to people and gives no discomfort.

- The use of the Fruity RCS® in cast forming changes the smell throughout the foundry from that of resins to the scent of fruit, greatly improving conditions in the working and surrounding environments.
- The general performance of the RCS is completely unaffected.
- The quality of smell is totally different from that of conventional deodorizers. It can also reduce the odor of formaldehyde (by around 20%).
- This technology is applicable to all of our RCS products currently in use.
